Matilda's Own 100% Bamboo Quilt Wadding is a beautifully soft, lightweight choice for patchwork, quilting and textile projects. Available in ½ metre increments, this cut-to-length option gives you the flexibility to order the amount you need for your project, whether you're making a quilt, home décor piece or textile art.
Made from 100% bamboo-derived fibre, this wadding has a smooth, silky feel and a soft drape, while remaining lightweight and breathable. Matilda's Own also recommends its bamboo wadding as great for those with allergies, making it a useful choice for bedding and quilts intended for everyday use.
The wadding is double-processed to help prevent bearding, keeping fibres securely in place during and after quilting. Its soft texture makes it easy to needle by hand or machine, offering a smooth quilting experience. With an approximate loft of ⅛+ inch (3mm) and a maximum stitch or tie distance of 10" (25.4cm), it provides a low-loft finish suitable for a wide range of quilting styles.
Matilda's Own manufactures this wadding without added resins, sprays or glues. It is machine washable and has a low residual shrinkage of approximately 2.5%, allowing a finished quilt to develop a subtle, softly quilted texture after washing.
Its combination of softness, breathability and beautiful drape makes it particularly well suited to bed quilts, throws and lightweight bedding. It is also a beautifully soft choice for quilts created for new babies.

Care & Usage Tips
- Shrinkage: 2.5%
- Maximum Stitch Distance: 10" (25 cm)
- Suitable for both hand quilting and machine quilting
- Prewash not required. Recommended to wash in cold or cool water. Note that if washed in warm or hot water, additional shrinkage will happen, resulting in a very crinkled look. It is always recommended to air dry, though a finished quilted item can be tumble dried in a drier on a cool setting.

Bamboo Quilt batting
The bamboo batting feels very soft and light . I have never used this product before. I’m using it with soft and bright polyester batting for a Trapunto project and I’m pleased with the result.
