Matilda's Own 100% Bamboo Wadding is a soft, lightweight and breathable choice for quilting. This pre-cut baby-size wadding measures 48" x 60" (122cm x 152cm), making it ideal for smaller projects including cot quilts, lap quilts and small throws. A beautifully soft choice for quilts created for new babies.
Made from 100% bamboo-derived fibre, this wadding has a smooth, silky feel and provides gentle warmth without unnecessary weight. Matilda's Own also recommends its bamboo wadding as great for those with allergies, making it a useful choice for quilts and bedding intended for everyday use.
The wadding is needle-punched with a fine scrim to help prevent bearding and provide stability while quilting. With an approximate loft of ⅛+ inch (3mm) and a maximum stitch distance of 10" (25.4cm), it is suitable for both hand and machine quilting.
Matilda's Own manufactures this wadding without added resins, sprays or glues. It is fully machine washable and has a low residual shrinkage of approximately 2.5%, allowing the finished quilt to develop a subtle, softly quilted texture after washing.

Care & Usage Tips
- Shrinkage: 2.5%
- Maximum Stitch Distance: 10" (25 cm)
- Suitable for both hand quilting and machine quilting
- Prewash not required. Recommended to wash in cold or cool water. Note that if washed in warm or hot water, additional shrinkage will happen, resulting in a very crinkled look. It is always recommended to air dry, though a finished quilted item can be tumble dried in a drier on a cool setting.
